Marilyn West attended the Cheers To Thirty event at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Cheers To Thirty was held to celebrate 30 years of Leadership Metro Richmond. Marilyn is proud to have to have served as Board Chairman for the organization and quickly points out that alumni of Leadership Metro Richmond help build and shape the greater Richmond area.
The highlight of the evening occurred when James E. Ukrop received the Arete Award for his years of community leadership. Ukrop, is a member of the LMR Class of 1992.He serves on 11 nonprofit boards and is active in senior leadership roles at his alma mater, the College of William and Mary.
More than 1,700 Richmonders have participated in the leadership-development program since it was established in 1980.
