Real GDP increased at an
annual rate of 1.1 percent in Q4 2005

of consumer spending. As a result, non-farm business productivity fell
by an annualized 0.6% in the same quarter, the first decline in nearly

When divorce hits
a small business
Deception and crippled businesses often are the aftermath of a messy
divorce involving couples who jointly own a business, Bill Lee of
family-business consulting firm Lee Resources says. "I always beg
people not to use the business for revenge or for getting validation,"
Birol Growth Consulting's Andy Birol says.

economy again
After letting consumers blaze the trail for most of the last ten years,
business leaders are ready to again steer the economy through
investments and other means, while consumer influence is expected to
taper off. "It's really going to be more about businesses (going
forward)," a Bear Stearns senior economist said.
