• Engaged the services of minority-owned consulting firm, M. H. West & Co., Inc. to coordinate the supplier diversity activities on the West Creek Campus Project
• Provided $3 million in working capital to the Virginia Community Development Loan Fund to support MWBE involvement in West Creek Campus
• Targeted $22 million for MWBE participation over the life of the project
• Exceeded Phase I MWBE targeted dollars for construction work
• Expand MWBE opportunities in Phase II
• Participated in Metropolitan Business League Economic Empowerment Conference
• Sponsored Diversity Awards at MBL Annual Banquet
• Held numerous meetings with MWBEs to learn about their capabilities
• Established measures to determine success
• Created (and expanded) a database of more than 250 Richmond area MWBEs
• Contacted or partnered with a number of qualified organizations that will assist us in expanding our opportunities with MWBEs
• Hosting regular information sessions on supplier diversity opportunities for the West Creek campus project. The kick-off meeting (October) was attended by more than 150 people.
